WWE Network to launch in Germany

WWE Network GermanyUS professional wrestling league WWE will take its OTT platform WWE Network to Germany: From January 5, 2016 wrestling fans will be able to sign up for the offering; the first months is free of charge.

The WWE Network will cost $9.00 USD (€9.30) per month, with no commitment and the ability to cancel any time.

Subscribers will have access to the English-language US version of WWE Network and get all 12 yearly WWE pay-per-view (PPV) events at no additional cost as well as 24 hour wrestling channel and a video-on-demand library with more than 4,000 hours of content including reruns of TV shows Raw and SmackDown and every current and past WWE, WCW and ECW PPV event.

WWE Network will first be available on desktop, laptop and mobile devices. Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Roku and Smart TV sets will follow in time for PPV event Royal Rumble on January 24, 2016.

“Germany is a strategically important market for WWE with a passionate and engaged fan base,” said George Barrios, WWE chief strategy & financial officer. “We are committed to growing our brand internationally and global expansion of WWE Network is critical to achieving that goal.”

In addition to Germany, WWE Network will also launch in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein on January 5, 2016.
