German commercial sports channel Sport1 will commence DTT distribution in the Hannover/Braunschweig region on October 22, 2015 at 8.00 CET.
NLM, the media authority of federal state Lower Saxony, allocated the free slot to Sport1 in early October 2015 for which several applications were submitted.
The launch in Hannover/Braunschweig marks the free-to-air channel’s return to DTT. Sport1 has previously been available terrestrially in Berlin-Brandenburg, but left the multiplex for economic reasons in autumn 2010.
