Lars Friedrichs moves from ProSiebenSat.1 to TeraVolt

Lars Friedrichs (TeraVolt)TeraVolt, a German media production company and consultancy specialised in the digitalisation of television, has appointed Lars Friedrichs, former director teletext and hybrid TV at ProSiebenSat.1, as its new director.

Friedrichs who has taken on the post on October 1, 2015 will bring experiences in smart TV strategy and product development for connected devices to TeraVolt. He was in charge of teletext and hybrid TV at ProSiebenSat.1 for 11 years.

Under his direction, ProSiebenSat.1 was the first German commercial broadcast group to launch a regular HbbTV service in September 2010. Friedrichs also contributed to the development of the HbbTV Version 2.0 standard.

“During my time at ProSiebenSat.1, I knew TeraVolt to be an excellent and much appreciated business partner, so I’m really looking forward to kicking off with such an excellent and highly motivated team and working with them to advance the issues and products in the HbbTV and smart TV segment”, said Friedrichs.

Oliver Koch, founder and managing director of TeraVolt, added: “We’re very happy we could inspire Lars Friedrichs to join our company. His outstanding professional qualities and experience make him the ideal candidate to further develop HbbTV, smart TV and connected devices.”

TeraVolt’s customers include broadcasters like RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL II as well as platform providers such as Deutsche Telekom, Kabel Deutschland and Astra satellite operator SES.
