German cable operator Unitymedia has appointed Dieter Vorbeck as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
As a member of the management board, Vorbeck will head the technology department of the subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global. He takes over the position from Frank Meywerk who will leave Unitymedia at the end of 2015 at his own request.
Following positions at Vodafone, E-Plus and Telefónica, Vorbeck has been working at Unitymedia since 2010. Most recently, he headed the network operations segment as vice president in the technology department and contributed, for example, to the development of the international network infrastructure of the Liberty Global subsidiaries.
In his new position, Vorbeck will continue the integration of Unitymedia’s high-speed network into the European Liberty Global network.
