Finalists announced for the Eutelsat TV Awards 2015

Eutelsat TV Awards 2015_juryEutelsat has announced the finalists for the Eutelsat TV Awards 2015 and the start of the People Choice election.

The Eutelsat TV Awards jury, chaired by award-winning RAI journalist Duilio Giammaria, and assembling media experts from diverse markets, met in Paris from 4 to 5 September to assess the quality, innovation and creativity of over 100 channels from 27 countries that entered this year’s competition.

The judges had a challenging time finalising the shortlist from an outstanding and record array of entries. The winning channels in eight thematic categories will be honoured at a ceremony in Rome on October 30. Awards will also be bestowed for Best Programme.

All participating channels in the Eutelsat TV Awards are now entitled to compete for the People’s Choice Award that will go to the channel generating most votes by the viewing public. Voting opens on September 10 until October 12.

The finalists are:
Children’s: Duck tv – Slovak Republic; Fix&Foxi – Germany; TVP ABC – Poland

Cinema: FilmBox Arthouse – United States; Nollywood TV – France; Stopklatka TV -Poland

Culture / Documentary 365 Days – Russia; France Ô – France; TVP Kultura – Poland

Fiction / General Entertainment Sundance Channel – United States; Sky Atlantic – Italy; iROKO Plus – Nigeria

Lifestyle Trace Sport Stars – France; myzen.tv – France; iFilm English – Iran

Music C Music TV – UK; DJAZZ.tv – Netherlands; Classica – Germany

News France 24 – France; i24News – Luxembourg; Rai News 24 – Italy

Sports beIN Sports – Qatar; Super Tennis – Italy; PXTV – Mexico

Best programme: 1992 (Sky Atlantic – Italy); The answer of grandchildren (Shant TV – Armenia); Mexico during the age of ice (XE IPN Canal Once – Mexico); Inside IS – War in the name of Allah (Spiegel TV Wissen- Germany) and Balkan route (Al Jazeera Balkans – Bosnia & Herzegovina)
