The Czech Administrative Court has upheld a fine of CZK1 million (€37,000) imposed on UPC by the Czech Telecom Office (CTU).
In a statement, the latter says that the fine was for the UPC’s decision in May 2012 to demand payment for the use of set-top boxes and increasing monthly fees for internet services without informing its customers they could terminate their contracts without incurring a penalty.
In its judgement, the court said it could not be automatically assumed that customers preferred speed over price when subscribing to internet services.
