The Polish media group Agora plans to launch at least two channels on the country’s upcoming eighth DTT multiplex MUX-8.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, its president Bartosz Hojka said that it is very interested in taking part in the tender, which was launched by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) at the beginning of this month.
Hojka added that Agora had until September 18 to decide on how exactly it would approach the bidding process.
He also said that Agora’s strategy, as announced at the beginning of last year, was one of expanding its activities in the TV industry.
Although Hojka insisted Agora could launch thechannels on its own, it would not rule out the possibility of doing so with a partner.
The group currently holds a 41% stake in the movie channel Stopklatka TV, which is distributed by Poland’s first DTT multiplex MUX-1.
