German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has expanded the video-on-demand service Sky Anytime available through PVR Sky+ HD to cable customers.
Through internet streaming, viewers can now access up to six times more content than before including movies, series, sports coverage, documentaries, children’s programmes and content of arts and cultural channel Sky Arts scheduled to launch in Germany and Austria in Q1 2016.
To enable the streaming feature, the receiver has to be connected to the internet through an Ethernet cable or by Wi-Fi.
The internet streaming function was introduced in December 2015 for satellite customers. Previously, new content was transmitted automatically to the receiver’s hard disk overnight via cable or satellite, but its capacity limited the available choice.
