After recent concern over a possible stall in growth, the BBC iPlayer has bounced back with 276 million requests in May. This represents an increase of 2% on the previous month.
TV requests were up by 10% year-on-year to 222 million, with an additional 20 million requests compared to May 2014.
Popular TV content in the month included Peter Kay’s Car Share with the first 4 episodes appearing in the Top 5 titles. New documentary Shark was also popular, as was coverage of Election 2015.
Computers remain the most popular means for reception of TV and radio content through the iPlayer (29%), closely followed by Mobile devices (24%) and tablets (23%).
