Latvia’s leading cable operator Baltcom is making significant changes to its programme offer that it is will affect all cable TV, digital interactive TV and internet customers.
They will see the introduction of something that is unique on the local market, namely two TV channel blocks, consisting of 56 and 100 services, and withdrawal of additional thematic packages, with the channels they contained merged into the two blocks.
In addition, viewers will also be offered two new packages, containing HD and adult channels.
Popular channels such as the six provided by Discovery, along with Setanta Sports, Mezzo and others, within the interactive TV service will be accessible via an archive, with recording and rewinding functions.
Meanwhile, the adult channel Playboy TV will be included in the 56-channel package offered to interactive digital TV customers.
These changes will come alongside a reduction in the number of channels Baltcom sees as being of lower quality.
