Russia’s leading pay-TV platform Tricolor TV has been ordered by the regulator Roskomnadzor to eliminate violations related to its offer of must-carry channels by the end of this year.
According to Comnews, this follows the completion of testing by Roskomnadzor, as reported previously by Broadband TV News.
Interestingly, Roskomnadzor did not wish to explain the violations it found, while Tricolor TV, quoting its general director Alexie Kholodov, said it was taking a “calm look “ at the results, describing some of its shortcomings as minor.
Roskomnadzor began its unscheduled inspection in late May following complaints from some viewers that the channels TV Center, Fifth Channel, Rossiya 24, Rossiya 2 and OTR were no long available free of charge, being instead offered in pay packages.
Kholodov said he did not know if Tricolor TV would change this.
