Stable revenues and a slowly declining subscriber base continue to charactarise the performance of Canal Digital and owners Telenor Broadcast.
At the end of the first quarter there were 905,000 subscribers, down from 912,000 at the end of 2014, and 920,000 one year ago. Revenues of NOK1,530 million (€180.11 million) were on a par with recent quarters, though down from NOK1,693 million 12 months back.
DTH ARPU meanwhile slipped to NOK368.
Telenor Satellite saw revenues increase by 3% mainly driven by a strong dollar, while EBITDA margin decreased by 1 percentage point, related in part to the Thor 7 launch.
Launched on April 26, 2015, Thor 7 is currently undergoing orbit testing and is expected to move to its final orbital location next month. It will enter commercial service in the second half of the year.
