April 27, 2015 13.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

UPC Ireland Horizon launchUPC Ireland Horizon launchUPC Ireland has upgraded its network to deliver fibre-powered digital TV and superfast broadband services across its footprint in south country Meath and north county Dublin.

According to the operator, advanced new services will now be switched on in Donabate (May 6), followed by the towns of Ratoath (May 12), Ashbourne (May 19) and Lusk (May 26).

Household will be able to benefit from its connected entertainment services, including Horizon TV and broadband at up to 240 Mbps.

Those opting for Horizon will have access to UPC’s new My Prime service, along with the mobile app Horizon Go.

Commenting on the upgrade, Conor Harrison, VP of network services at UPC Ireland said, “We are delighted to offer customers access to one of Ireland?s fastest residential broadband service at 240 Mbps speeds. At this year’s Switcher Broadband Awards, UPC was voted Best Broadband Provider for a second year in a row and picked up four awards which reveal what Irish customers think about their broadband provider, from speeds, reliability to customer service and support.

“As well as high speed broadband, we continue to bring new products to the market, creating exciting new services for our customers. For instance we expanded our Horizon TV service to offer My Prime, which includes the very best Irish and international content. This provides thousands of hours of entertainment which can be accessed over multiple devices via the Horizon TV HD+ box and the Horizon Go App, both in and out of UPC customers’ homes, at no extra cost.

“We remain focused on delivering extraordinary home entertainment, an exceptional customer experience and the most innovative digital services in the industry.”
