Telecom Italia is in advanced talks with Mediaset over a TV content deal, according to the operator’s CEO Marco Patuano.
“We have always said that we regard our network as an open platform. Mediaset has many customers and quality content and we have a real interest in working with the company,” said Patuano at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia.
A report from news agency Radiocor indicated that the joint Telecom Italia-Mediaset offer could be launched in September, with the parties negotiating a three-year quad-play deal similar to the TIM Sky IPTV offering unveiled last week. Patuano last month revealed that Telecom Italia was also in talks with Netflix over a possible content deal with the US online streaming company.
`the deal with Mediaset would follow a similar agreement with Sky Italia, announced last month.
