Russia’s Gazprom-Media has brought together its entertainment channels into a single division.
According to Vedomosti, the channels include TNT, Pyatnitsa, 2×2 and TV3 and the group will be headed by Artur Dzhanibekyan, who created Comedy Club, one of the largest and most successful producers of TV content in Russia.
Gazprom-Media acquired a 75% stake in the latter for $350 million in 2011.
The idea of creating the new division was first mooted at the beginning of last year, when Gazprom-Media acquired Prof-Media, including its channels Pyatnitsa, 2×2 and TV3.
At that time, Gazprom-Media’s two main TV channel assets were NTV and TNT.
