TiVo will be expanded in Spain and its platform upgraded following Ono’s acquisition by Vodafone.
According to TiVo, a refreshed user experience will be offered to its current customers and Ono STBs powered by TiVo also marketed in Vodafone Spain retail stores.
TiVo and Ono previously partnered last September to implement TiVo’s cloud service APIs to enhance customers’ TV viewing experience on multiple screens.
Commenting on the new developments, David Sandford, VP, general manager, international at TiVo said: “throughout our working relationship with Ono, now part of Vodafone, their commitment to innovation has always been impressive. We are pleased to continue supporting these efforts by improving and extending the TiVo offering in Spain.”
Patricia Ferruz, director of Ono residential business unit, Vodafone Spain, added: “TiVo’s solutions have been instrumental in providing an unmatched TV experience to our customers no matter what device they are using.”
Ono has worked with TiVo since 2011 and the latter now having over 500,000 active users, equivalent to at least half the operator’s subscriber base.
