Ukraine will launch two new TV channels in the next few months.
Quoting Yurij Stets, the country’s minister of information policy, Mediasat says that the main objective of the first channel, known as Ukrainian Tomorrow, will be to counter Russian services such as Russia Today (RT), which is active worldwide.
It will be based on the channel bTb and financed by European and US partners, as well as from the public broadcaster’s budget.
The second channel will be a military channel, with content dedicated to Ukraine’s armed forces.
The Ukrainian media group 1+1 already operates Ukraine, a channel aimed at countering RT.
