Telekom Romania has stolen a march on its rivals RCS&RDS and UPC by launching an internet offer with download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
According to ZF, it is available in 13 cities with FTTH coverage, among them Arad, Brasov, Cluj Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Timisoara and the capital, Bucharest.
Telekom Romania, formerly known as Romtelecom, invested €85.4 million in its infrastructure in the first nine months of 2014 and plans to have 500,000 homes connected to its fibre-optic network by the end of the year.
RCS&RDS launched an internet product with access speeds of 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps in November 2014, while UPC launched a 500 Mbps in several cities this August.
