Over two-thirds (68.9%) of pay-TV homes in Hungary received digital services as of this September, according to data produced by the regulator NMHH.
The total number of homes opting for cable or IPTV services, based on data from the eight major market players, stood at 2,051,111, of which 1,096,073 were digital.
The number of DTH subscriptions meanwhile stood at 901,643 and a further 120,360 homes received the pay-DTT service MinDig TV Extra.
All told, there were 2,118,076 digital TV subscriptions.
UPC was the leading provider of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.2%.
It was followed by Magyar Telekom (24.2%) and Digi (22.9&), with the next most popular services being Invitel (4%) and MinDig TV Extra (3.5%).
