The first reading of a bill banning advertising that interrupts TV shows will take place in the Russian Duma (parliament) on November 14.
According to AKTR and Comnews, the ban would be effective from 19.00 to 23.00 on weekdays and from 11.00 to 23.00 on weekends and holidays.
It was initially proposed by the LDPR party in October 2013 and taken up by a committee in the Duma two months later.
Russia will shortly be bringing in a controversial ban on advertising on cable and satellite channels.
