Munich’s local TV broadcaster münchen.tv has terminated the HD distribution of its channel on Astra (19.2° East).
The HD carriage has been a special offering during the Oktoberfest from which münchen.tv reported live every day. The event which attracted around 6.3 million visitors this year ended on October 5, 2014.
The HD project during the Octoberfest has been supported by Astra satellite operator SES, technical service provider Media Broadcast and Bavarian media authority BLM.
In standard resolution (SD), münchen.tv can continue to be received on Astra. The commercial broadcaster uses the frequency11.523 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 5/6); the signal is unencrypted.
