Rakuten’s Wuaki TV is launching in France, the third country for the VOD service, after Spain and the UK.
According to ZD Net France, Wuaki TV is now recruiting 10,000 beta users for the service among its clients of the Price Minitser website, which is also owned by Rakuten.
Pricing of the VOD service is €0.99 for renting a single title, €9.99 to download and own, while a TV series pack costs€4.99 to rent. Wuaki TV said it currently has over 1.5 million active users in Spoin and the UK.
Following the launch in France, the VOD portal hopes to add another 12 countries in the near future. Last June, Wuaki TV already announced their intention to launch in other countries, including France, Germany and Italy.
