Ukraine’s National Council for Television and Radio has decided to add Historia to the growing list of Russian channels banned in the country.
This follows numerous complaints about the service, which is operated by the Russian public broadcaster VGTRK (RTR) and has been deemed by the council to be in contravention of Ukrainian broadcast legislation and the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
Separately, the council has decided it is inappropriate to spend significant public funds on programmes for Euronews.
It has also confirmed the establishment of a working group to look into the future of digital broadcasting in the country.
Its first meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 10.
