SeaChange International has announced that its Adrenalin multiscreen television has been selected by BBC Worldwide to support next year’s launch of the BBC Store.
The new online commercial service, separate from the BBC iPlayer, will allow audiences to buy and keep BBC programmes.
SeaChange will provide a managed service incorporating Cloud Adrenalin – on demo at next week’s IBC 2014 in Amsterdam, and the Company’s 24×7 remote service management team.
“We selected SeaChange because it’s focused exclusively on creating solutions for extremely demanding television operations worldwide,” said Michael Fleshman, senior vice president Consumer Digital Technology at BBC Worldwide. “Our strategy for BBC Store will use the cloud to achieve scale, reliability and quality. SeaChange Cloud Adrenalin will be the key to our ability to present the programs we’re offering on any devices viewers choose.”
SeaChange has also reported second quarter revenues of $29.8 Million (€22.25 million) – at the higher end of the company’s guidance and a reduced operating loss of €5.2 million.
