The leading Polish alternative telco Netia has finally entered the country’s cable market, offering services in Warsaw and Krakow on networks formerly operated by Aster.
The cable networks in the two cities, which were acquired by UPC Polska before being sold on to Netia, are now providing customers with internet access at up to 300 Mbps, which with a digital TV package costs PLN39.90 (€9.53) a month.
The latter consists of up to 180 channels, almost 60 of which are in HD, and cheaper broadband and TV packages, with lower internet access speeds, are also available.
Netia is also providing customers with a Multiroom service that starts from as little as PLN1 a month.
Aster’s cable networks in Warsaw and Krakow reached around 314,000 and 106,000 homes respectively and Netia’s offer is initially being made available to 175,000 and 40,000 respectively.
