Sky Deutschland secures movie packages

Sky DeutschlandGerman pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights of several movies for its linear TV channels and its mobile and on-demand services Sky Go and Sky Anytime through eight new licence deals signed with independent film companies.

The contract partners are Splendid Film, Telepool¸ SquareOne Entertainment, DCM, Constantin Film, Prokino, Majestic and Universum. They cover 87 international and German productions which Sky will show as German TV debuts.

Part of the line-up are, for example, The Expendables 3, Sin City 2, the Olympus has fallen sequel London has fallen with Gerard Butler, Race, Yves Saint Laurent and this year’s Oscar winner La grande bellezza.

Also included are titles like Behind the Candelabra with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, A Long Way Down, Scary Movie 5, Before Midnight, The Butler and Riddick.
