M7 Group adds Scripps channels

June 23, 2014 21.03 Europe/London By Robert Briel

food_networkM7 Group has concluded an agreement with Scripps Networks International for the distribution of Food Network and Fine Living in the Benelux and CEE.

The two channels will debut on the M7-owned satellite platforms Canal Digitaal (Netherlands), TV Vlaanderen (Flanders) and Skylink (Slovakia and the Czech Republic). Scripps’ Travel Channel, the world’s leading international travel broadcaster, is already available in HD on these platforms.

As part of the new agreement, Travel Channel, Food Network and Fine Living will also be available via Online.nl, the new IPTV platform that M7 Group recently launched in the Netherlands. Throughout its various markets, M7 Group serves more than 3 million homes with a wide range of local and international TV services.

“Following the success of Travel Channel in these regions, Scripps Networks International is pleased to announce this new deal with M7 Group that expands the distribution of two more of our lifestyle channels to key European markets via one of Europe’s leading TV providers. We hope that audiences in Benelux, Slovakia and the Czech Republic will enjoy Scripps’ vast range of innovative programming offered on Food Network and Fine Living,” said Jon Sichel, managing director, Scripps Networks UK and EMEA.

Marco Visser, CEO M7 Group said: “We are delighted with the continued evolution of our partnership with Scripps Networks International. Travel Channel HD has been included in our line-up for many years, and now our viewers in the Benelux and CEE markets will now also have the chance to enjoy the full range of Scripps’ programming with the launch of Food Network and Fine Living.”
