ADB wins first Ukrainian contract

June 3, 2014 07.53 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

volia-grafitiUkraine’s leading cable operator Volia has selected ADB to deliver OTT and hybrid OTT/cable boxes, software and integration services.

The deal, which is the first of its kind for ADB in Ukraine, will set the foundation for Volia’s further expansion into new on-demand and cloud-based services.

It will see the operator, which has nearly 2 million subscribers in a total of 34 cities, deploy two set-top box models – the ADB-1720CW for hybrid cable and IP/OTT and the ADB-1720W for IP/OTT HD environments.

Commenting on the deal, Volia’s CEO Gyorgy Zsembery said: “Providing a broader set of high quality services to deliver entertainment for our customers, wherever they are and no matter what device they use, is the key driver of our business. We believe that ADB’s products and software integration services are helping us to achieve this goal. We have been impressed by ADB’s professionalism and its ability to deliver cost-effective products and software integration services for a hybrid, multi-screen world.”

Pter Balchin, ADB’s CEO, added: “Volia is a progressive pay-TV operator that understands the importance of working with an experienced vendor to future-proof its hardware and software investments. We are committed to helping Volia lay the groundwork for its next raft of market-leading OTT and cloud-based applications and services that will be truly valued by subscribers.”

ADB is also managing the software integration with Volia’s existing third-party applications.

The project is already underway and is expected to be completed later this year.
