Landscape Channel has started broadcasting this month as a basic HD service on Init Cable in Lithuania.
It is being offered through Wide Media, Landscape’s Baltic representative.
Init is the first cable operator in the Baltics to distribute Landscape Channel using Landscape’s unique 1080p mini server.
Commenting on the launch, Nick Austin Landscape’s chairman, said: We have known for a long time that people in the Baltics and former Russian states love Landscape because we can see they are top of the YouTube stats. The Baltics are a part of the world where there is a deep appreciation of classical music and the beauty of nature. I am sure that we will do well now that the technology allows us to distribute without the need for a satellite and Wide Media are leading the way for us.”
