Security specialist Vermatrix has named Steve Oetegenn as its President with a brief to play a more strategic role. The San Diego-based company has an eye on larger video distributors that are looking to transition to an IP-centric network infrastructure.
As president, he will also continue to lead the sales and marketing efforts.
“Steve’s enhanced role at Verimatrix is the logical progression of our strategic business development initiatives, as he has played a central role in establishing our strong market presence and reputation for the last 10 years,” said Tom Munro, CEO of Verimatrix. “Our vision of revenue security within the software-empowered video operator model requires a more sophisticated approach to the market and our customers. Steve is the ideal person to lead this effort.”
Prior to joining Verimatrix, Oetegenn was COO of MediaSec Technologies LLC, a developer of digital watermarking, COO of Argus Systems Group, a provider of Internet server security software, and CEO of DCE Communication Ltd, a provider of business messaging systems.
