The Czech public broadcaster Ceske Televize (CT) has deployed a content distribution head-end supplied by Oslo-based Appear TV.
The head-end receives DVB satellite signals and SDI internally from the broadcaster’s studios.
Commenting on the development, Ivo Prochazka, chief engineer, CT, said: “We chose the Appear TV head-end because not only did it meet our exact technical requirements, but additionally it is capable of being modified to meet any changing requirements we may have moving forward.”
Carl Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV, added: “The head-end we supplied to Czech TV includes Appear TV designed modules that handle the turnaround of DVB-S as well as the internal re-distribution over DVB-T.
“The flexibility of our head-end design made it possible to provide Czech TV’s and content acquisition and re-distribution system that exactly meets its needs as well as being adaptable moving forward.
