Discovery Networks UK and Ireland has promoted Susanna Dinnage to EVP and managing director.
“Susanna is an exceptional TV executive who has a unique ability to understand and build channel brands and is a champion of the needs of viewers across different genres and demographics,” said Dee Forbes, president and MD of Discovery Networks Western Europe, in a statement.
“During the last year she has successfully launched TLC and has celebrated substantial growth across our channels and I am delighted to be able to announce this much-deserved promotion.”
Dinnage’s remit covers 12 channel brands in the UK across three genres; factual, lifestyle and entertainment. The channels include Discovery Channel, DMAX, Animal Planet, Real Time and Quest, which are viewed by over 3.7 million people per day.
Susanna joined Discovery in 2009 to set up an integrated Research and Scheduling function for Discovery’s UK Business. In particular, she built an increasingly close relationship between the UK Research Team and the Strategy Team in DNI to identify new opportunities for the UK Business.
Susanna is a launch specialist with extensive terrestrial and digital TV experience. She was part of the launch team for Five as well as Fiver, Five US and a number of MTV and VH1 channels.
