The Russian channel Dohzd (‘Rain’) has been strongly criticised for the airing of a controversial programme and its future now looks in doubt.
The programme, related to the Second World War and in particular siege of Leningrad, has already resulted in Dohzd being dropped by NTV-Plus and Akado, with other platforms, including Tricolor TV, issuing strong statements but deciding to continue distributing the channel for the foreseeable future.
Moscow-based Dohzd was founded by Natalia Sindeeva and claims to be an independent channel, often inviting criticism.
Late last year it failed to secure a final slot on Russia’s second DTT multiplex.
