The Bulgarian national commercial broadcaster bTV cannot be dependent solely on revenues from advertising, according to Pavel Stanchev, its newly appointed CEO.
However, quoted by Capital, he added that for the station, which is 94%-owned by CME, the ad market would remain the first priority.
Stanchev, who takes over on February 1, said that bTV would develop such areas as niche channels, internet presence, radio and revenues from cable operators, with diversification also being a priority.
At the same time, he refused to be drawn on speculation that Greece’s Antenna Group is eyeing possible acquisitions in Bulgaria.
