The 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who contributed to the third biggest month ever for the BBC iPlayer. Requests were up 27% to 263 million.
Mobile and tablet requests remained stable at 36 per cent of total requests, while computers delivered 38%.
The Day of the Doctor generated a total 2.8 million requests alone with a record-breaking 1.3 million coming on the first 24 hour, beating the 1 million requests received for the Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Mobile devices account for 16% of requests with tablets at 25% and computers 33%. TV platform operators contributed 18% and game consoles 5%.
The profile of BBC iPlayer users has evened out over time in terms of male/female ratio, but remains strongly under-55 in terms of age, which is younger than the typical TV viewer or radio listener’s profile (although more in line with home broadband users).
