Ten public Dutch regional broadcasters are launching a common smart TV app.
With the app, viewers can watch regional news and sports reports on demand as well as watch live TV and listen to live radio.
The app works on smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Philips, and Sony with Sharp coming on soon. The app is also available on UPC’s Horizon set-top and on the digital platforms from Glashart Media and CAIW.
In addition, each broadcaster can also apply the app for its HbbTV service.
The app was developed by 24i Media for Omroep Brabant, Omroep Flevoland, Omroep Gelderland, Omrop Fryslân, RTV Drenthe, RTV Noord, RTV Noord-Holland, RTV Oost, RTV Rijnmond and RTV Utrecht.
