Trace has entered into an agreement with the Russian cable operator ER Telecom.
Under it, the latter’s Do.ru service will make the sports entertainment channel Trace Sports HD and international hip hop & R&B music channel Trace Urban HD available to subscribers of its Digital Basic Tier package, offered in 56 major Russian cities including St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Samara and Volgograd.
Trace Sports is the first channel dedicated exclusively to sports celebrities and is already offered in Russia by Tricolor TVand Beeline TV.
Commenting on the agreement, Andrew Chazov, director of marketing at Dom.ru, said: “With TRACE Sports HD and TRACE Urban HD, we can now expand our unique proposition and establish our position of providing a vast collection of TV content in high definition to a wide-ranging audience.”
Laurent Dumeau, CEO, Trace Sports, added: “We are excited to be extending our footprint in Russia and launching the channel before the Winter Olympics next year. We will produce dedicated programming on the stars set to compete in Sochi in 2014, which will allow Dom.ru subscribers to discover more about the lives of their favourite Olympians.
