Elemental Technologies has entered into a partnership with Teleste.
Under it, the company will power the Teleste Optimo OTT solution, which is a complete multiscreen solution for managing and distributing TV channels, interactive services on DVB, IPTV and OTT networks.
It also provides content creation to set-top boxes, tablets, PCs and smartphones.
Speaking at a press event in London, Keith Wymbs, VP of marketing for Elemental, said that the company had until now not had a high focus on cable, concentrating instead on IPTV.
However, the formalisation of the channel partnership with Teleste marks its entry into the cable market in Europe.
Commenting on other developments, Wymbs said that in the few short weeks since NAB, where Elemental debuted 4K H.264, it has advanced its HEVC software codec implementation to support 4K/H.265.
He also said that following its demonstration of live processing of 1080P HEVC at 3.2 Mbps, Elemental has announced that its technology has since advanced to enable 1080P HEVC at below 2.8 Mbps.
The company believes it is innovating faster than anyone in the industry and has made HEVC available to any customer that wants to license it.
Wymbs also said that its Cloud PaaS has already been deployed on three continents. In addition, he said that Elemental is not a hardware but “completely a software company.”
