Munich-based Autentic has become the major shareholder in the German documentary production company Tangram International.
Autentic has announced that Dagmar Biller, who has headed Tangram for many years, will continue to lead the production company as managing partner.
Tangram produces high-quality documentary films on subjects from the fields of history, science, literature, art and contemporary history, and works with German and international broadcasters such as ARD, ZDF, arte, BBC, Channel 4, Discovery, PBS, Sundance Channel and SBS.
Among the current projects are 20-40-60: Our Life, a three-part experience documentary about three generations in Germany by Dominique Klughammer for ZDF, as well as a four-part contemporary history series about major speeches of the 20th century, which are to this day still anchored deeply in the collective memory.
Autentic managing director Patrick Hoerl: “A strong production company is the ideal supplement to our growing distribution business. For years now, Tangram has been one of the most successful documentary film producers in Germany. Under the direction of Dagmar Biller, the company has also proven itself in a difficult market affected by many changes. This makes Tangram an ideal partner for us at Autentic.”
Munich-based Autentic is a joint venture of Beta Film and Patrick Hoerl.
