Dutch telecoms incumbent KPN is increasing the monthly subscription fee to its DTT platform Digitenne to €12.50.
The new fee becomes effective on July 1 and follows an earlier price rise last October. At the moment, the monthly fee is just under ten euros, €9.66. When the platform was launched, KPN positioned the DTT platform as a cheap alternative to cable with a retail price of just €6.95.
Digitenne had 717,000 customers on March 31, 2013, down from 754,000 at December 31, 2012. Instead, KPN seems now to concentrate its efforts on its IPTV service KPN Interactieve TV, whose customer base is now 1,128,000 connected homes.
