Viasat Ukraine subscribers are now being offered a full range of channels from the national commercial broadcaster Inter.
This follows an agreement, announced only last week, between the two parties. Local reports say that Viasat Ukraine will not pay royalties for the channels, which include Inter, NTN, K1, K2, Mega, Piksel, Inter-Film and MTV Ukraine.
The move is significant in that Inter has until now been reluctant to make its channels available to such services as Viasat Ukraine and was indeed planning to launch its own platform.
Inter’s operator Inter Media Group underwent a change of ownership earlier this year, when it was sold GDF Media for $2.5 billion (€1.83 billion).
