Slovakia will see the launch of its first pay-DTT service on May 1.
Known as Plustelka, it will be operated by Towerhome, a subsidiary of the incumbent telco Towercom and reach nearly 80% of the population.
Local reports say that its offer will include Eurosport and Eurosport 2 following the signing of a long-term agreement between Eurosport and the platform.
It will also include the Czech public broadcaster’s two main channels CT1 and CT2.
Pay-DTT services are still more the exception than the norm in Central and Eastern Europe, with MinDig TV Extra, one of the more successful, being found in neighbouring Hungary.
