MIPTV 2013 – Cannes. FremantleMedia International and Vuguru are launching two original multi-platform comedies, Fetching and Hollywood Help.
These are the first two titles to come out of the original programming partnership announced at MIPCOM 2012 between the leading international distributor and independent US multi-platform studio.
The shows are completely adaptable for both linear and non-linear platforms and are available in a variety of time lengths from bite-size five minute chapters, to half hour episodes, to a 1 x 90 minute TV movie.
David Ellender, CEO of FremantleMedia International and kids and family entertainment said, “With viewer habits continuing to evolve it’s vital that we are offering flexible, adaptable content for all buyers. And it has to be good content – viewers are not only consuming differently but they’re very savvy and won’t settle for less just because they’re on non-traditional platforms. Vuguru is proving that great content and great talent is increasingly coming from multi-platform studios.”
“Vuguru has always found incredible success with its titles in the international marketplace,” said Larry Tanz, CEO of Vuguru. “We are extremely excited to introduce both Fetching and Hollywood Help through FremantleMedia International as our first offerings in our original content deal.”
The partnership between FremantleMedia International and Vuguru, further diversifies FremantleMedia International’s portfolio of scripted programming. The deal is one of several made by the distributor with digital content specialists.
FremantleMedia International also has a first-look deal with online streaming service Hulu for its original content and Morgan Spurlock’s production company Warrior Poets whose series Failure Club was originally produced for Yahoo! in the US.
