PIKE 2012 – Jachranka. Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, the founder and owner of the Polish national commercial broadcaster Polsat, has ruled out the company taking part in a DTT tender later this year.
Answering questions on various topics, he also dismissed suggestions that the DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat faced a threat from DTT, adding that instead it was involved in the sector by selling DTT as well as DTH receivers.
Commenting on Polsat’s recent launch of a mobile TV service, he said that it had a national licence and was expecting to see strong subscriber growth in the upcoming Christmas period.
However, he refused to comment on the mobile/LTE strategy being adopted by T-Mobile.
