Sony has entered into a strategic partnership with the Polish public broadcaster TVP in order to develop HbbTV services in the country.
Under the terms of the agreement between the two parties, they will jointly develop content and hybrid TV services, as well as educate consumers about such services.
TVP has pioneered the introduction of HbbTV into Poland, launching a service in time for Euro 2012 this summer.
Since then, it has developed HbbTV services covering the weather and information and is currently working on dedicated HbbTV programmes with specific applications.
Sony has already worked with TVP, introducing a VOD services giving access to TVP programmes in HD on Sony Internet TV last year.
It has also been the technology partner for the popular show Voice of Poland, broadcast on TVP2.
