September 10, 2012 21.36 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Russia’s Vimpelcom, which operates under the brand name Beeline, has signed a five-year agreement with Huawei.

Under it, the latter will provide extended support services for the operation of both fixed and mobile networks in the Volga and Far East regions of Russia.

Separately, Vimpelcom has appointed Igor Parfenov the VP of its technical unit.

Most recently, he was the technical director at MegaFon.
