The Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska saw particularly strong growth in its digital TV business in the first half of the year.
While its revenues of PLN46.6 million (€11.1 million) were 75% higher than a year earlier, the number of subscribers (digital cable and IPTV) as of the end of June was, at 243,000, 44% up year-on-year.
First half revenues from digital TV services meanwhile accounted for 30% of the company’s TV business as a whole. As of the end of June, Multimedia Polska had a total of 953,000 RGUs, of which 230,000 (+45% year-on-year) were for digital cable and IPTV services.
Multimedia Polska also saw its internet revenues grow by 14% year-on-year to PLN94.8 million, with the number of RGUs growing by 20% to 454,000.
However, telephony revenues were down slightly in H1, to PLN63.3 million compared to PLN65.2 million a year earlier, with the number of RGUs amounting to 277,000 (+2% year-on-year).
Multimedia Polska’s total revenues from sales in H1 were PLN332.5 million (+10%) and EDITDA PLN169.9 million (+8%). Its net profit nevertheless fell to PLN29.6 million (-16%).
