UPC has signalled a major expansion of its service portfolio in Hungary.
Local press reports indicate that the company will announce tomorrow (Tuesday, August 21) the launch of mobile services with – most probably – Vodafone providing the infrastructure.
The Liberty Global-backed company is the leading cable operator in Hungary, ending the second quarter with 305,300 digital and 331,300 analogue TV subscribers.
It also had 468,800 internet and 359,500 fixed line telephony customers.
UPC Direct, the DTH platform owned by Liberty Global in Hungary, meanwhile had 226,000 subscribers at the end of Q2.
