Sundance Channel is expanding its on demand offerings in Europe with a launch on the Belgian incumbent Belgacom.
It has also partnered up with the leading French cable operator Numericable to offer exclusive VOD rights for Mad Men to authenticated subscribers as a complement to Sundance Channel’s pre-existing linear service.
Sundance Channel has recently launched on networks in a number of territories including (in Europe) the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Portugal and Hungary, along with the TV Everywhere launch on iPhones and iPads in Spain.
Further afield, it has just made its debut in Thailand and launched its first-ever VOD offering in China.
Separately, Chello DMC has been selected to provide playout and distribution services for Chello Zone’s Zone Romantica.
From August 1, it will distribute the channel in SD to 21 countries via the Telstar 12 (T12) satellite.
Zone Romantica, which targets female viewers, will carry Russian and Czech audio and be subtitled into Croatian, Slovakian and Bulgarian, with other languages being added as it expands.
