The Latvian cable operator Izzi plans to be offering its subscribers up to two 3D channels by this autumn.
In a statement, the company says that the channel High TV is already available to all digital viewers in test mode and for no additional charge.
It adds that it is currently “carefully evaluating 3D offerings from around the world”, with a view to adding a second 3D channel to its line-up in September.
Izzi also says that it plans to significantly add to its HD offer, with viewers soon be able to receive up to 19 channels, some of which will be in Latvian, in the format.
Izzi is the second largest cable operator in Latvia after Baltcom and both face strong competition from the incumbent telco Lattelecom.
